It comes in GREEN or RED, or AMBER
The light of many uses
See bottom of page to order a sample.

1. Signal flare Everyone in all directions can see it.

2. Medium power signal spotlight Everyone in all directions can see it and it can be seen for a much further distance in the direction you point it.

3. High power signal spotlight A strong beam of light shines only in the direction you point it and it cannot be seen from the sides or back.

4. Tinted flashlight that will protect your night vision when you use it to look at your gauges, maps or other objects, and will be much less alarming to nocturnal animals.

The basic purpose of the Airbuddy Wonderlight is as a signal light. You'll notice that it comes in two pieces, with a wrist strap that can be attached or left off.

With the light tube inserted, it is the brightest waterproof signal light made.

With the light tube removed, it is a colored flashlight that can be used as a back-up light or a general purpose light when you want to preserve your night vision or avoid alarming certain nocturnal animals or other sea life.

Two different ways to use it as a signal.
1. With the light tube inserted, it is super bright in all directions and also put out a beam of colored light from the end of the tube that you can point at the person you are trying to attract.
2. With the light tube removed it will send a powerful beam straight ahead t signal an airplane or boat or another person without any light spilling out the side.  This can help prevent the light attracting unwanted attention from other people or possible predators.

The light tube may be safely removed and installed underwater.

The two different beams available
In order to show the beams, we had to photograph them through a piece of paper because they were much to bright to point directly at a camera.

1. The small beam on the left shows the beam you get with the light tube inserted,
2. The wide beam on the right shows the beam you get with the light tube removed.

Left above you see the end of the light tube that projects a beam.
Right above you see the recessed light that projects the stronger hooded beam with the light tube removed.

How does this compare to other signal lights?
In order to show you the comparative intensity of the Wonderlight we took this picture with it side by side with one of the most popular signal lights available up to now.  Both lights were given fresh batteries. As you can see, the other one looks like a toy compared to the Wonderlight.

Uses

With the light tube installed this is bright enough to:

Be seen by your entire scuba team

Hang from a boat to direct all divers back

Use by a Police Officer to direct traffic

Use by airport ground control to direct a pilot

Leave submerged by your shore entrance point to direct
your dive team back to the place for the exit on a night dive.

Use as a running light on your boat.

Hang on your back while you ride your bicycle.

Carry while you jog at night

Safely used in mines where explosive gasses might be present to direct emergency exits

Attract rescuers on water, snow, mountains, forests because of the strong all around glow.

With the light tube removed this is perfect for:

Reading maps, gauges and other items without ruining your night vision.  There are two reasons for that.
     1.   The colored light protects your vision
     2. The light source is deeply recessed so no light spills to the side to affect your vision.

Signaling to a specific location for help. This is perfect to shine at an airplane,  boat or other vehicle that you can see from a distance but that cannot see you. The spot of light is intense.

Used as a focusing light when trying to photograph  an underwater animal that might be frightened by a white light.

Signal to a shore party or your boat with pre-arranged messages.

Some notes of interest concerning the Wonderlight

The light uses a very high intensity LED light that should last about 10,000 hours

It uses a 3V 123A battery, either the common lithium or much more conveniently, the nickel/metal hydride rechargeable.  We've found Ebay to be a very good source for the lithium or the rechargeble batteries and chargers.

Recall of original lights.  We did sell a bunch of prototypes for testing when we were in the R/D stage on this light that were made with a soft black covered push button on the rear end.  Testing showed that the rubber cover was affected by ambient pressure and affected the operation of the light and it was also subject to deterioration from salt, heat and ozone causing the light to leack.

The new Wonderlight is turned on and off by turning the back cap, the safest method.  If you have one of the lights with the black button on the rear end we will replace the back cap for you at no charge. Just send us a copy of your receipt and we will mail you a replacement cap. If you can't find your receipt, mail us the cap with the button and we will send you back the new, no button cap.
